Inspired by the precision of mathematics, this cast clay vessel showcases a mesmerizing pattern of overlapping layers. What makes this piece truly unique is its journey through a soda fire kiln. Fired at extremely high temperatures, the clay body enters the kiln 'naked' – without any applied glaze.

Inside the kiln, a dynamic atmosphere of smoke, fire, and volatile soda oxides works its magic. Ash settles onto the ceramic surface and melts under the intense heat, naturally forming an 'atmospheric glaze'. This process creates the distinctive warm, earthy tones and fascinating surface variations you see on the exterior, making each piece one-of-a-kind. This organic finish complements the intricate, layered design, resulting in a soft, tactile surface that invites touch.

Measuring 4 x 3 inches wide and 3 inches tall, this piece is a stunning example of the intersection of art and science. and the unpredictable beauty of atmospheric firing techniques.
